The fashion blogging trend started in 2006 and has grown in many ways since. On the Internet people can now find hundreds of fashion blogs that talk about their daily routines, food, up coming sales, and most importantly about products they rave about. For everyone that is an avid blogger reader, please don’t pretend like you’ve never wanted a pair or shoes or a bag that you’ve seen because your favorite fashion bloggers posted about it!
Blogger advertisement has been the target for many retailers because, one fashion bloggers have large followings and two because blog readers or “followers” will reblog products reviewed by fashion bloggers causing an on going amount of free advertising. Basically companies pay a small fee to fashion bloggers in hopes of their product becoming the new “It” item.
Fashion blogging can now even be considered the future of fashion magazines. Of course fashion magazines are still relevant but with the recession and the majority of the population being fiscally conservative fashion blogs seem more wallet friendly. Not only can everyone who has a computer to have access to them but they can easily look through older entries without having to go through piles of magazines. With the new age of technology fashion magazines could eventually become obsolete and replaced by blogs. It is crucial for companies to read and invest in blogger advertisement because it enables them to see their future customers on a more personal level and allows them to better their market research. Retailers investing in bloggers can stay current by keeping up with the fashion trends and prevent themselves from suffering from marketing myopia. Over all fashion blogging is the new and improved magazine although seeing advertisements in person is classic, blogging allows mutual success and opportunities between the retailers and the bloggers .
